Sometimes, creating something beautiful begins with a blank canvas.
In February 2026, I took on a new little space at VEND Virginia, with the hope of creating somewhere that truly reflected the feeling behind Breathe & B.
Of course, when I first arrived, it looked quite different from what I had imagined! 🤣
There was a bright blue wall, a few mismatched shelves and plenty of work ahead.
But I could already picture what it might become.
From Blue Wall to Blank Canvas
The first step was giving the space a fresh coat of paint.
I chose a soft off-white to create a lighter, calmer backdrop for my crystals, mindful gifts and handmade pieces.
Once the old shelving was removed and the wall was painted, the whole space began to feel different.
It was amazing how such a simple change could create so many possibilities.
🪵 Building Something with My Own Hands
Next came one of my favourite parts — creating the crate wall.
Piece by piece, I arranged and built the display, thinking about how each shelf could showcase the different products without making the space feel overcrowded.
I wanted it to feel natural, welcoming and a little different from a traditional retail display.
There was something quite satisfying about watching it gradually take shape.
And, as often happens with creative projects, I found myself enjoying the process just as much as the finished result.
🪷 Bringing the Space Together
With the crate wall in place, it was time for the finishing touches.
A rug, carefully arranged products and a few little details helped bring everything together.
What had started as a bright blue wall and an assortment of shelves had become a space that felt much more like Breathe & B.
Calm, natural and thoughtfully arranged.
Standing back and looking at the finished display was a lovely moment.
💜 A Little Reflection on the Creative Process
Looking back, what I remember most isn't simply the finished display.
It's the enjoyment of creating something from the beginning, working with what I had and watching an idea gradually come to life.
Sometimes, we don't need to have every detail worked out before we begin.
We can start with one small step, make adjustments along the way and allow things to evolve.
That little space at VEND Virginia became another chapter in my creative journey, and I'm glad I took the time to document it.
Because even as Breathe & B continues to grow and change, the joy of creating something meaningful remains at the heart of what I do.
